It's the Great Pumpkin, Josiah Charles!

Our next family adventure was a trip to the pumpkin patch! Well, actually, it was a glorified farm/pumpkin patch that was more like a miniature State Fair than anything else... but the kids enjoyed it! Scott, who grew up pretty much on a farm, wasn't as impressed, but had fun watching the kids enjoy themselves. Allison and Peyton joined us again and, as you can see in the pictures, Josiah and Peyton have such a good time together! They saw and imitated some farm animals, took a train ride around the farm, played in the corn house (Scott said it was just like playing in the corn silo when he was younger), went down a huge tunnel slide (Josiah didn't like that too much), ran through a big fort and a maze, took a hayride, and "picked" a pumpkin. The pumpkin picking was really just choosing one from a big field of already picked pumpkins, but it saved us from having to take a knife to cut one off of a vine! The kids still enjoyed it, even Rachel! She loves walking!!!

We had to check the kids' clothes (and Rachel's mouth) for stray corn kernels! Josiah made a "corn angel"!

Josiah got to help carve his own pumpkin! He didn't like the "yucky" stuff inside, so he let us do that part!
