The Flowers Family: The Many Adventures of the Flowers

I have finally had the opportunity to sit down and post my first blog on the Flowers Family site! We recently returned from Pawleys' Island where we spent several days relaxing during my last week of "Track Out" (I had two and a half weeks off of school... I track back in tomorrow with my wonderful class of Kindergartners). While we were at Pawleys' we celebrated Rachel's first birthday! As a 1-year-old, Rachel is walking, climbing stairs, eating regular food (just cut up in small pieces because she still has no teeth), trying to talk (saying "DaDa" very well, definitely a Daddy's girl), clapping, pointing, and trying to copy almost everything her brother does! Josiah is an awesome big brother! He loves his little sister and enjoys teaching her to do all kinds of things like running, coloring, reading, writing (he's beginning to write all of the letters of his name), throwing a ball, singing, praying, and "steam-rolling" (rolling around on the floor... that gets a little dangerous sometimes because Josiah likes to "steam-roll" on top of Rachel)! The kids loved the beach and didn't want to leave (especially with Ms. Allison and Peyton there too)! Josiah's favorite thing was jumping and splashing in the water. He even stood at the edge of water and called the waves to come to him! Rachel was a little more hesitant, but was happy as long as she was in Mommy's arms (as usual). We're taking a break on traveling for a while now... not just because of gas prices, but life is busy enough in our household even without driving across NC, SC, and VA! Two children now walking, talking (somewhat), and everything!!! Amazing! God has truly blessed us!
